The Imperial DAQ card (IDAQ) was a Virtex-II Pro FPGA board designed in a 6U VME form factor.
I did this one during the early years of my PhD at
Imperial College London.
It was the successor to the
APVe, designed by Gregory Iles at Imperial College London.
Later our group became involved in the
I-ImaS Project and it became
clear that a development of the APVe that maintained its original functionality while adding new features
would be ideal for the project.
Like the APVe, the IDAQ is a 6U VME card, but it is also capable of operating on a work bench using a standard +5V DC power supply.
It also supports USB and 10/100 Ethernet interfaces, has 256MB of DDR memory and approximately 270 programmable I/O. In the end,
16 IDAQs were built and they have been used in projects at CMS, T2K, I-ImaS and others.
